I think the sheer size of this book is what had me so delayed in reading it. Don’t get me wrong, I love to read. But I love to read without stopping, so when I see a massive book- I have to be sure I have adequate time to get through it.
I’m know I’m late to the party on this one, but The Nightingale did not disappoint! The story follows two sisters as they live through World War II in France. The story is beautiful and so well detailed. The fact that Kristin Hannah was able to use this story to highlight the history of women who (secretly) fought in the War, was just amazing.
If you’re hesitating reading this book, because it’s historic fiction, don’t. I typically wouldn’t choose historic fiction from this time frame to read, but this is a novel that needs to be shared. Pick it up and start as soon as you can. I found myself completely invested in their lives and only wanting to know more about them!
I am eagerly awaiting the movie, which should be coming out in late 2020!
Also, I recently created a Book instagram and would love if you followed along: @SomeDayCameBlog on instagram!
